Greatest Flair feud: Ricky Steamboat. Some ofthe best matches of all time, they have stood the test of time, and this feud lasted for three decades (and might make four decades if Vince McMahon had the sense to give them one last match.)
My favorite Flair feud: Blackjack Mulligan.

Steamboat for match quality. Hot on the heels of that are Windham and Funk. I also enjoyed his feuds with Ron Garvin, Ricky Morton, Harley Race, and to an extent, even Dusty Rhodes (though it was done to death). In the 90s, I guess it would be Sting, Randy Savage and Vader (not so much the feud with Vader, but the Starrcade match itself).

I gotta go with Steamboat as my favourite, if we're talking all round quality, and not just the much talked about 1989 stuff, but the original 77 - 78 deal too. That first match with Steamboat beating Flair for the TV title at WRAL studios (four years to the day before I was born!!), leading to the face burning angle, and then Flair getting his clothes torn off (the first time). I mean - its just perfect stuff, Steamboat being the absolute apotheosis of the super clean young babyface, and Flair the cocky young super-talented asshole. From what I saw of the house show matches at this time from the 'Cornette Dumpster tapes', there is just something to them, a kind of heat, that has never been duplicated....maybe the greatest feud of all time.... I really liked the stuff with Ricky Morton - stating the obvious but Ric REALLY excelled as a cocky heel going against 'underdog' babyfaces. I enjoyed Flair as face vs Harley, Funk & the Vader '93 deal, but by and large he really looked uncomfortable working as a face in his prime.... Unfortunately, I haven't seen enough of the famous Blackjack Mulligan feud to be able to rate it, but anything featuring an image as priceless as this is sure to be worthy of some import:

Sting... the whole thing with the horsemen with J.J. throwing the drink in his face , that's when I started watching wrestling...

I think Flair's greatest fued was with Rick Steamboat. It stretched from 1977 - 1989 off and on. His battles with Harley Race in the early and mid 1980s were pretty good as well.

I really like the Steamboat, Funk, Morton, Rhodes, and Blackjack Feuds. Steamboat is overall the best IMO because of the quality of matches and longevity.

Good points on the Steamboat feud. Some of those matches are timeless. My favorite Flair Feud(and one that no one has mentioned) was with Nikita Koloff. In my opinion, this was one of the high points in wrestling in 85-86. This feud should have culminated in at least one title change. A short title reign by Nikita would not have hurt the organization. In fact, could have helped it. It could have changed up some of the stale title matches we were seeing(Flair-Rhodes a hundred times, Flair-Garvin,etc.). Nikita title defenses against people such as Magnum, Wahoo, Tully, Dusty, Jimmy valiant, etc. could have been great.
Amazing that the Russians held every major championship in NWA/WCW except for the World title.

1. Steamboat (best series of technical wrestling matches I have seen) 2. Sting (maybe the best natural rivalry. Definitely the most fun) 3. Terry Funk (The I QUit match from New York Knockout is a classic) 4. Lex Luger (Flair owned him, but all their matches were high quality and entertaining) 5. Macho Man Randy Savage (I thought the two of them had great chemistry when working together) 6. Dusty Rhodes 7. Harley Race

I would say that Ricky Steamboat and Terry Funk provided the best matches of my generation of watching wrestling........ However the feuds with Sting, Barry Windham, Magnum TA, Great Muta, Harley Race, Randy Savage, Curt Hennig, Vader, Ricky Morton, Ron Garvin, adn Dusty Rhodes were right behind that.....Hmmmmmmm I see a pattern here of all the memorable feuds from my years as a fan containing one central ingredient............

If Flair was in it, I was watching it. He was, is, and will forever be the best. WOOO! However, I gotta say that the feud with Nikita is one that I hold ofnd memories of. It was my two fav's wrestling each other. Who was a young man supposed to pull for?! And definitely for quality of matches anything with Steamboat and Flair is just mindblowing.
