- They have obtained the Florida Championship Wrestling library, and will be using footage from it for the Dusty Rhodes DVD release. They are valuing the library as being worth about one million dollars. from PWinsider: www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=16641&p=1

You can't blame Mike Graham for selling the tapes. It's not like he could market the tapes himself and make that kind of money. Personally I probably would have sold them if I was in the same situation. Look at how few tapes have come out so far. I'm sure that he hasn't made a lot of money from them either.

"I’m not going to let him (Vince McMahon) write a check, back a truck up and drive off with my family heritage. As long as I live, nobody is going to own the content but me because nobody is going to buy my dad’s work.”

Who knows why he sold them? Did he need the money? Maybe Dusty talked him into it.

maybe that's the biggest purpose in hiring dusty. ..another covert sting operation. knowing that dusty could get to mike.
thanks for posting that quote ultimo.
kyle, you said exactly what i mean here. he probably hasn't made any money of what has been produced because what has been released so far has been drips and drabs of nothing. putting a dvd out with a bunch of clips, with a full match or two, with no rhyme or reason to be together on a single disc is not the recipe for marketing a product. he could set up some webcasting and make more than he did in no time if he would make the effort. like i keep saying, vince is the only one that will invest money into the tapes. everybody else sits on them while they could be investing some money and making a bundle for themselves. what mike did is called selling out for the big lump sum instead of working for an even bigger reward by working.

It's true that the few dvds that have come out weren't the best quality, best matches or put together with too much thought. I'm not sure that webcasting is going to be a big thing for many years. Some of us are stuck with a dial up service and it isn't worth the effort. You said the answer to the question yourself "Vince is the only one that will invest money into the tapes". Bottom line, Vince has the money and he is willing to spend it. Will we get to see this collection? Nope, only bits and pieces as they see fit. Would Mike Graham ever release these tapes? It's been pretty slow so far.

Not saying Mike Graham isn't a man of his word, but money talks and things change. I don't like the idea of Vince McMahon owning anything more than his father's footage, than everybody else. But I don't really blame him for selling. It's going to waste as it was and maybe Vince will get better use of it. I would be happy to get his 24/7 stuff and burn some copies of whatever I liked.

Money is what makes the world go round and the WWE has alot of it. If I had the old tapes and they tryed to buy them I would ask a very large price for them and if they paid it I would be a happy man.

It's a shame it seems these days anyone can be bought for the right price. Integrity is a rare commodity this day and time. No one keeps their word it seems that all it takes is a number. I have no respect for anyone who won't keep their word. If you lie to me you will steal from me and breaking your word is the same as a lie.

You can only be bought at a price if you devalue yourself that much.
