I haven't been watching TNA religiously or anything. Maybe I should. But I didn't think he'd win the World title tonight. Maybe that was the surprise element. But Jarrett has dropped the title to what AJ twice, Christian, Rhino, etc.
Is this for him to get it back on the first Thursday night TNA show? I hope not. I'd rather see a few other guys in line. I'd like to see another run for Sting. But more importantly the continuous buildup of Samao Joe and put the strap on him down the road. He's the real deal.

I dunno Bobby, who avalible do you think would do better? I'm happy to see Christian with the belt, it's diffrent. And I am very much looking forward to the time when he and Samoa Joe hook up, I hope it's coming because I think it will be good.

i can't anser ou r question as i am so unfamiliar with so much of today's indy stars and such (outside of NC). but my main problem is the fact the gave it to another released ex-WWE star. i realize that givng it to an ex-WWE star is a neccessity at times, but they need to make the ex-WWE stars shine, but not win the belt. it cheaapens the belt

But thats the thIng he wasn't released, he chose to leave to go to TNA. He wanted to go to TNA instead of staying with the WWE, he wanted to be a part of TNA. He made a choice to go somewhere else, not because he had to but because he wanted to.

I think I would've liked to have seen a much bigger build up to him winning the title. This seemed a bit too rushed.

I watch TNA regularly and want desperately for it to succeed, but they try too much to be like the WWF. I understand their reasoning in making Christian champ, but he is still in the punch-kick-clothesline WWF mode. During the first 5 minutes of his matches, he puts on a good show, but after that he peters out.
Who would I make champ? I'm a big Jarrett fan, but I think that Sabu would make a good champ. Joe would be a good champ. Raven, once he gets healthy again. Other than those guys, I'm not sure anybody else is credible.

But thats the thIng he wasn't released, he chose to leave to go to TNA.... being as i don't keep up with 99% of what goes on with either group, i would not know this. but that does help make my point. most fans would not know this either. they just see that he was with the WWE one day, and TNA the next, regardless of the reasons why. and in their memories, he is still strong as a WWE guy. please excuse my previous post. i was dead then. but the point i was trying to convey is that with the ex-WWE guys winning the belt, not just one guy but 4 i can think of quickly, it makes it look so minor league in comparison to the WWE. and like stompinground said, they try to copy the WWE SO much...TNA needs it's own identity as far as looks, production, sound, lighting, and most of all, wrestlers and it's champions. jarret being champ is ok as he has been gone from the WWE long enough that he is forgotten. but i realize he has gone stale as champ. then raven, followed by rhyno, and now christian. i do want TNA to succeed. but who wants another WWE around...ain't one enough??

i have also wanted to know WHY samoa joe is such a big deal anyways, and why is he the x-division champ? isnt the x-division supposed to be for the cruiserweight type guys??? samoa joe sure doesnt have the type of build that division is supposed to be for.

CHRISTIAN SUCKED IN WWE AND HE SUCKS MORE IN TNA. I AM SICK OF FEDERATIONS PUSHING MID-CARDERS DOWN MY THROAT AND ACTING AS IF THEY ARE NOW MAIN EVENT MATERIAL. HOGWASH! JARRETT, CHRISTIAN, STING AND MANY OTHER TNA STARS ARE JUST WASHED UP AND CAN'T DRAW A DIME. WITH BREAKOUT STARS LIKE MONTY BROWN. AND SAMOA JOE AND AJ STYLES WHY DOES TNA FEEL THE NEED TO MAKE MY WORLD CHAMPION CHRISTIAN??? CHRISTIAN HAS ALWAYS SUCKED. STING IS A SHADOW OF HIS FORMER SELF. GIVE THE BALL TO THE PEOPLE WITH A PERSONALITY.NOT WASHED UP FORMER STARS!!! ALL CHRISTIAN DOES IS COPY THE ROCKS PROMOS.

Seems to me that they changed the direction of the X Division on us, which I think is a good idea. Meaning, don't limit yourself to who can and can't win the title.
As for Samoa Joe, it's the mystique and the fact that the guy can move for a big guy. It's not all about the wrestling skills. I mean, look at his track record in ROH. He was champ for nearly 2 years. With Joe, I think it's more the buildup than the in-ring work. You could say the same thing for a lot of guys -- Hogan, John Cena, now, etc.

I think giving Christian the title was a good idea. He was mid-card in WWE, but higher on the totem pole than a Rhyno or Billy Gunn. TNA needs to push faces that casual fans recognize in order to capture the extra audience they want. The people who are watching for AJ Styles or Samoa Joe are going to watch the show regardless. But the Dudleys + Christian I think are more important for drawing new viewers at this time.

i agree shannon. but if it were me, i'd rather have a guy like christian chase the belt, and then distract him into something else away from the belt. well, that's my way of thinking. seems to me that a TNA guy with the belt actually keeping the belt from a bigger more recognizable name like christain, would give more credibility to the fans about the title as well as the TNA guy as champ.
