Alex Marvez recently caught up with Bob Bruggers. There is a terrific article in the South Florida Centinel newspaper. Photo by Robert MayerThe Dolphins had lost track of him.
So did his pro wrestling contemporaries.
"Bob Bruggers?" Ric Flair said incredulously when the name of his former grappling rival was mentioned during a telephone interview. "I thought he was dead."
Not exactly -- unless an early-morning bartending shift at a creaky Fort Lauderdale dive is considered purgatory for a former wrestler and NFL player. >> Cut & Paste this ENTIRE LINK into your browser to locate the complete article: www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/football/pro/dolphins/sfl-bruggers13sep13,0,7747486.story?page=1&coll=sfla-dolphins-front (The syntax of this URL wouldn't work correctly with the automatic linking function, but the full link is correct.)

How can Bob B only be 55 years old (that was his age stated in the article) if he played with "Chief" Wahoo "Ed" McDaniel, in 1966, on the Miami Dolphins football team. He would have had to be starting in the NFL at the age of 15.

Good catch there, Rowdy Roddy. Yeah, considering he joined the NFL in 1966 and set a high school record in Minnesota for points in boys' baketball in 1962, that still stands, he would have to be at least 61 or 62.
