I got back from the convention. Here are my thoughts:
No word can describe what a great time I had! This was my first ever FanFest. It was a great time, I hope, had by all. The promoters I think fumbled on the Hart situation, but I wasn't going to let that get in my way. There wasn't much else to do other than the autograph stage and the signings. If you had VIp (which most did) you could attend the Q+As. Thats fine, but not much else to do. But, I'm so used to the hustle and bustle world of comic book and (formerly) Anime conventions.
Look, I'm a mark. No question, we all are. But, I have a feeling, no one else has the balls to yell to Jim Niedhart "Hey Jimmy, WHO is number 1? You are!!" while he's coming out the bathroom.
As for the signings. Great! I had such a wonderful speaking with the wrestlers.
Others:
Dealers room was nice. Great stuff. Sadly, I didn't have enough money for belts. Maybe next year.
Hotel: Graet hotel from I saw. I didn't stay though. I liked the way it looked, waterfall, the rooms looked kinda nice, everything was great. I hope you guys are at the same one next year!
Photo Opps: I'm just mad I didn't get one. Thats pretty much it, it looked like everyone had a great time, so I'll take their word for it and say it turned out well.
Virgil:...Valentine said it best "Why is he down there? What'd he ever do?" LOL. It was aweomse. He was spending more time hanging around other wrestlers than his own table. What does that tell you? I'd call him obnoxious, but I spent more time in the hallways doing impressions of the Warrior and Dusty Rhodes than in the dealers room, so I have no room to talk.
My Personal Thanks:
Historyofwwe.com gimmick table: For helping me kill time by being as funny as can be. You guys are awesome and so funny. I still want that Royal Rumble 1992 poster, but I'm not trading my Hitman shades. Sorry...lol. Keep up the great work on the website! Keep hating the Warrior.
Dr. D and John: Those belts ruled the world. These guys, if you haven't seen them, had replica belts of the 70s era. They looked awesome and so real. You guys we're great to talk to and have conversations with. Hope to see ya again!
Greg and Promoters: You guys did the best you could. Aside from the Bret situation, I had a non-stop party, even though I was loud and obnoxious. But, it wouldn't be a wrestling convention without that one fan would it? lol. You guys keep up the great work. Please, bring it back next year!
One thing I want to add as well, is every fan I talked to, was just so friendly. I felt right at home. As I stated, I used to do Anime conventions, and the fans are usually so rude and don't talk to you unless you agree with everything they say and have the same exact taste. Here, I felt much better that I could argue about real stuff and still feel great about the passion I've held for so long.
The only worst thing than leaving the convention, was realizing I had to wait a good year for it again. I've thought of doing Charolette, but we'll see.
Again...
[glow=red,2,300]THANK YOU TO ALL!!!![/glow]
Can't wait to see you all next time!!! Untill then, keep this board rollin'!
