Your right, I would not call him a legend, but he is a very rare guest. There are many people at this show who I would not call a legend, but it is cool to see them and get there autograph. Lanny Poffo,Boris Zuhkov,Stevie Ray,Rockin Robin,Baby Doll,Tom Pritchard,Virgil,Dick Slater and others would not be considered legends,but they are interesting to meet.

I would definitely regard Mr Slater as a legend, possibly Tom Pritchard....

Guys cut it out, seriously. If that is who Ken wants to bring in then that is who he wants to bring in. This going back and forth about who is and who isn't a legend has gotten out of hand the last few months. No matter your feelings of the guy, they went into the ring to entertain all of us, beat themselves up all to give us a show.

In my mind, being a legend or not being a legend does not matter to me. I have many favorites that would not be considered legends. Its all about being a fan of someone. I was a big Barbarian, Iron Mike Sharpe and Buddy Rose fan, but none of these guys I would consider legends. I would get more of kick out of meeting them, than many much bigger name wrestlers.
Just to let everyone know why we picked guys like Stevie Ray ,Ahmed Johnson,Buddy Roberts and Boris Zuhkov, its because of price. I could bring in lets say Paul Orndorff, who would sell a good number of autographs, but would run me close to $1500 for fee, travel, hotel, etc. He has done he's share of shoots, so there is no side bookings for him. It would be a big risk. With the group we are bringing, they are all doing shoots, so the cost and risk is much less. When it comes down to it its a money issue. I think there are many people who will want to get a rare autograph from several guys who may not be around again for a long time. Buddy Roberts to me is a true legend, because of being part of The Birds.

if i had any reservations about coming, roberts would have made been te deciding factor. but i am coming anyway. it just makes it so much sweeter.
i have always been a bif 'bird fan. he is also the only one i have never met. thanks to you guys, i will met him finally.

ken i went to 2 of your shows as well as the other signings in deer park ...i have met a lot of wrestlers because of your signings.Ahmed is going to be another i want to be the first one to meet him..remember me

That's awesome about Ahmed Johnson. I thought he was a good wrestler. Haven't seen him on TV in years. Should be great.

Again , it's just losing sight of the bigger picture. I am a wrestling fan , I want to meet the wrestlers and get their autographs and the whole legend thing is really overdone and played out.

I'd also like to add that having done a few signings myself it takes a whole lot to put down who people bring in , maybe they should shell out some big bucks and bring in their heroes.....

No matter what you might think about a guest (Featured or Vendor guest), someone will be coming to see that guest. Whether we THINK they are a legend or not is really irrelevent. This is an event to celebrate our love for the Wrestling business, and some of our favorite performers. So lets try to keep it positive. |

yea who cares if it's a "legends" or not. To me it's not a legends fest, it's a WRESTLING fest. I would be happy if we got Doink!

If that's who he is bringing in, more power to him, just don't expect me to pay for an autograph from him or a photo. The guy just wasn't that good. I'm not going to debate whether he's a legend or not, but he just wasn't anything more than another big dude.
