Hey guys, as it stands now, I think I'm going to pass on Fanfest this year. While Greg has put together an awesome array of talent for this and I'd love to be there -- there's an off-chance I might show up Saturday or Sunday or both just to say hi and browse the merchandise -- I've got some rather serious family issues going on right now.
As some of you know, my mom has lung cancer. The initial prognosis gave her six months to live. That was in March. So August would be 5 months and cutting it close, if that prognosis is true.
This is not to mention that my family learned this weekend that my 15-year-old nephew, who had a heart transplant when he was 8 days old, has heart disease and may need another transplant.
And, if that wasn't enough, my 91-year-old grandmother has Alzheimer's, which she's had for a few years now. She is doing pretty well from what I hear, but you never know with that disease.
So keep us in your prayers. Enjoy yourselves at Fanfest and if I can squeeze in some time that Saturday and Sunday, I will. I'll probably hit a baseball game that Monday anyway with one of my best friends.
Mike

So baseball is OK to miss the fam for though? umm.... ok....... The baseball game was planned well in advance and would only take me away for 3 hours, not the entire weekend. And, there could be an off-chance I might take my nephew to that, but we'll see. And, BTW, I find your comment rather insensitive considering the nature of the message. But, I come to expect that in the wrestling biz anyway.

Those comments were rather callous and uncalled for considering the situation.

Thanks Steven and Bobby. I appreciate it. The news on Jacob this weekend just really hit home.

Hey Mike:
Even though I don't know you personally, I will keep you and your family in my prayers as well. Besides, there will be other fanfests in the future. Family is more important, and I wish you and your family all the best.

Ditto for me, too, Mike. God bless you family. I'll be remembering ya'll in my prayers, too. And if you do make it to Rockville for a day, please look me up. I'd love to meet you in person.

It was rude and im sorry. I hope nothing for the best as it seems like a hard time for his family to be in.
