I'll be travelling to Washington from NJ by train on Thursday 10th August - is there any kind of local transit system in D.C that will allow me to get to Rockville??
Was gonna take Amtrak all the way but there is (according to their website) only one service to Rockville that day and I miss it due to the time my flight arrives at Newark Airport....
Thanks....

Yea if let's say you take the Amtrak trains to Union Station you can just hope on the red line to Shady Grove or Grosvenor and it takes you to Rockville!

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but, not being from the area, I have no clue.
Which, if any of these, would be correct for the hotel?
• Baltimore Downtown • Inner Harbor • Downtown Washington DC • Port of Baltimore • Baltimore West • IAD - Washington Dulles International Airport
Just trying to figure out the best way to get from BWI to the Double Tree (as the service offered at the hotel itself is ridiculously expensive).
Thanks for any help.

Cactus:
Uh, none of them actually.
If you want to do this cheaply PLUS avoid traffic jams, the best option is to take the Penn line of the MARC from BWI to Union Station, then the subway Red line to the hotel. The whole trip should be under $10.00
MARC trains (mtamaryland.com) operate Mon.-Fri., so leaving Sunday would be an issue.
Alternative: BWI has an express bus to the Green line subway stop at Greenbelt, 7 days a week. Then take the Green line to the Red line at Union Station, and take the subway to the hotel. Again, this is cheap. (http://www.bwiairport.com/ground_transportation/washington_dc__wmata_/)

Thanks for the help!! It's greatly appreciated.
Looks like I should be able to do the MARC coming in on Thurs and the train to the bus on Sun. (At least that's according to all the schedules I downloaded!)
Thanks again!

There is also a trip planner at this site http://www.wmata.com./ . Just put in the time/day/destination and it tells what train/bus to take.
