ok lotboss, you said to call you stupid, so here i am to say it. you have no right to call any of us chaep and ignorant here on this board. let me say, i do not want something for nothing as you said. and as ken said, it does cost to get these guys at shows, i understand that. but you need to realize that most people coming for this show is already looking at the cost of: 1. missing work 2. the cost of the hotel, whether split with a friend or the whole cost, that is still money. 3. the cost of flying or driving. 4. the cost of food and drink. 5. the cost of admission, over $100 alone 6. the cost of anything bought at the fanfest 7. possible unexpected things that can happen.
this trip is costing me and many others a BUNCH already and then, and i say this, that i am grateful in certain people being brought in here, but to get paid $15 or $25 a shot for taking a photo or scribbling their name down on a piece of paper is high , and you call me cheap for stating that??? hey, i don't get paid hundreds of dollars and hour, and if a person gets that much traffic, that's what they will get. NOBODY is worth that, not even you. i have NEVER in all three charlotte fanfest brought a photo with a guy before, ask greg or any of my friends, that can tell you so, because i am not paying that kind of money. but here comes one person that i WILL pay for (roberts) and then you call me cheap and ignorant for commenting about the expence...you can bite me where i sit. i work for my money and i have to watch my expences, like most people coming in. so don't be calling names and criticizing us for doing what we have to do.

Hey guys, everybody calm down. The prices we have come up with, are the best deal we can offer, and hope to make money. Anybody have any questions feel free to call or email me anytime. I plan on posting on this tread till the show, and will be here for any questions, To me no question is annoying. I know the Legendsofthe ring promoter, and he does make some good points, he also runs a good show. I do not want to bash anyone, and won't. I understand the expense for everyone involved from the fans to the promoters. For me , I was a huge Freebird fan , and meeting Buddy Roberts and doing a shoot with him that night will be a highlight for me. Again I will answer any question any body has as many times as I need to. Thank you Ken

That lotboss came on here an basically initiated the "bashing' of people ..let me offer up this...save that crap for other boards and other threads where it is maybe warranted! Having that crap on here diminishes from the fact that we are going to get a chance at seeing one of the original Freebirds! That, imo, is going to be one of my highlights also! This is my first fanfest and I for one am extremely happy with who is going to be there already! Now having the people come on here and ask questions pertaining to prices for pix,etc should not be a prob and anyone bashing them for just asking questions shouldn't even post here!

I was also wondering, what do you guys think of Harlem Heat's Stevie Ray. He will also be doing a shoot that night.

never was a fan of harlem heat. no offence meant to no one. the nWo (which i was a huge mark over) was on it's deathbed before stevie ray joined up... i'm up for meeting anyone, especially someone who has been able to do what i wasn't able to do. i'm sure he'll have some great insight on the last few years of WCW for the interview that will be worth checking out.

I stated that the price for a picture with my own camera was ridiculous. Ken stated it was an error and the price was less. End of discussion.
It's easy to misquote people, as he did. It's easy to make claims about what someone else has said about attending shows. However, my personal favorite is the "I know who you are" since my name and website are my sig. It's not like I'm trying to hide my identity.
Funny how he never had all these things to say, to my face, when I was a paying customer at some of his past conventions. Hmmm.
I'm not going to get into a war of words with one person as this isn't the place to do it. (No need to as everyone else has done a more than adequate job of quoting him and making some awesome points! TY)
It seems his only resaon for registering was to trash people while plugging his own future show.
If lotboss has a problem with me, a paying fan who has never claimed to do anything more than be a fan, then let him take it up with me personally.
See you all at the show!!

I have tried several times to clear the air with lotrboss, whose name is Terrence. He had problems with us when we ran a convention the week before his, in a different state. He claims we were screwing with him, which we were not because, I had never talked to him before we set our date. Then when he bad mouthed us , we got defensive, like anyone would, and it continued from there. I am totally over our differences, I do not think he is. I have sent him emails to drop the issue, but he continues to be hostile. I hope he can learn to drop things, because its not worth it. Steve, who is the S of K&S Promotions and I do this because we are lifelong fans., we always look to make money, but if we break even, we are happy. But if we make money we are much happier! Completely understandable, Ken. It seems to be the nature of the wrestling business.
I have been nothing but supportive of past conventions Terrance has run. Due to differences (that I am long over) I didn't promote his last con on my site as heavily as I had previous ones. I guess that is why he attacked me. Funny how this is the first time I have heard anything from him considering he knows me, my site, my email, etc.
Now, onto more important things like Buddy Roberts and Stevie Ray. I would love to see a shoot interview with Buddy as he must have thousands of things to talk about. Look at the history he has in the business plus being a part of one of, if not the most, well known team in wrestling history.
Stevie Ray is a different story. Nothing against the guy personally but, outside of Harlem Heat, I don't think he is all that well known and I'm not sure what the demand would be for a shoot interview with him.
Either way, I need to meet him as I have a Harlem Heat tag set I need signed! LOL

A quick note on Stevie Ray...back when I lived in Colorado Springs ,Co ..WCW was running a series of shows at AAA baseball stadiums and had one right down the road from me! I even obtained a press pass that let me pretty much roam around anywhere and not too many places were off limits! I had a chance to meet Terry Funk (who looked road weary even back then) Ric Flair(who was more than happy to chat with me until too many fans came around!) Arn Anderson(who also was very cordial until the crowd noticed him) Dustin Rhodes/Ricky Steamboat(who chatted with a lot of fans and made my wife act like a friggin school girl as she has always had a crushon him lol) and many others! The biggest jerk of all was Terry Taylor-who had nothing but bad things to say to fans near the dressing room and after promising a few to give autographs after he showered,he came out and actually told them to "F### OFF"! But anyhow, the biggest memory of this event was Stevie Ray taking a hell of a lot of time to stand with/chat and sign autographs for a bunch of us ! He was the most down to earth guy, next to Chavo Guerroro who was also there, that I have ever had the pleasure to speak with! That there says a lot about this guy ,who at the time was a heel on tv! So while he may not rank up there with a lot of "legends" you just might be surprised how many of us will get his autograph and hopefully get to chat with this great person! That's the thing about these vendors bringing in other talent-you not only get to see all these great legends that Greg has signed for us already, but you get to meet others that will only make this experience, especially for us first timers, that much better!

that's what makes events like this so good. and other events. when you get to see your "heros" away from the ring. that pedastal we have them on, it may need to be adjusted. then others like you illustrated with stevie ray, might need to be erected. i don't expect these guys to treat me like i'm their best friend, but when i see a guy take time (without an attitude) and do with and for the fans around him, that really makes me respect a guy. i've met a lot of great guys and girls, and a couple of butts, too. but some really stand out. they care about fans. when you see that, you don't forget it.

I'd like to ad my two cents to this - that LOL!BOSS dude, or whatever he's called, can say what the hell he wants, but he's just coming across as a sour goof. As Mr R Yates of Randleman, NC put it: we all have those expenses when going to Fanfest. The only difference is non-vendors don't have anyway to recoup the what must be a MINIMUM $500 expenditure to attend FanFest (and far more for me as I'm paying ONE THOUSAND & TWO HUNDRED bucks to fly from Europe - call me crazy, I have the certificates to prove it) - and at the end of the day all people were doing were querying and commenting on prices with a vendor who was happy to answer those queries and explain his pricing scale.
I admit the expenditure involved in these things is a double-edged sword. The vendors have to charge X amount of dollars to cover their costs, which includes the vendor space, trans, hotel as well as the talent cost, trans and hotel. Fans are already spending a lot of money, and that includes the VIP ticket price which includes signings, the bulk of the talent and Q&A's - so to the fans its always gonna look steep to have extra on top of that - I use the comparison that: imagine paying $150 to go to Lollapalooza and then finding out you have to make an additional $25 payment to see your favourite band.
Greg Price had a great analogy I read somewhere: something like that he saw FanFest as a syndicate of wrestling fans pooling $100 each in order to be able to see their wrestling heroes, and celebrate the era we love with likeminded fans etc.
I like that analogy, and vendors add to it in that they can bring extra talent (and also a great opportunity for you to get merch) beyond Greg's talent budget. But those guys aren't doing it for free and they have to at least break even, and ideally profit (for me, its not really worth running a booth if your not gonna turn a profit - its just not good business sense). And if Greg's analogy is going to be adhered to you have to find some middle ground....
For what its worth, from my understanding of the FanFest clientele BUDDY JACK ROBERTS is the PERFECT guest to bring in. I WOULD NEVER book Stevie Ray on the other hand - I have nothing against him, but from my understanding of the attitude of people coming to this event, he's a bit outside of the kind of wrestler people want to see (both in stature and era). Maybe I'm completely wrong, and like BrunoGod said we might be surprised at how interested people are in him. Stevie would be perfect for some other conventions, and I'd get his autograph if was included in the ticket price, but he's just not a name that I would pay extra to get an autograph or photo with, and the similar sentiments of indifference from others on this thread appear to echo/substantiate that theorem.
