Hey all, I have been speaking to Greg and have decided following a recent post that we should all do as much as we can to try and encourage Blackjack Mulligan to attend the show in August. The idea would be for you to post in this thread with the following: 1/ Who you are and where you will be coming from 2/ Why you want to meet Blackjack Mulligan 3/ You favourite Blackjack Mulligan memory Once we have a decent enough sized thread I will see about Greg sending him a link in the hope he will take note and see about attending. PLEASE DO NOT POST ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE ABOVE IN THIS POST. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR QUERIES PLEASE POST THEM IN ANOTHER THREADI really think we can do this but only with YOUR help. We really need about 100 replies so forward this post to anyone you know with a slight interest in meeting Blackjack Mulligan or who is coming to the event. I will add mine ASAP.

I have met nearly every wrestler I ever grew up watching, except one. That one is Blackjack Mulligan.
For as long as I have watched wrestling, I have been a fan of Blackjack Mulligan. Who can forget, as a child, watching him put the clawhold on his opponent, only to have the tv cover it with a giant red x. That scared the hell out of me. Even though it scared me, I was always a fan and never missed a match.
It would be an honor to get to meet such a great man.

Blackjack told me one time that it wasnt the "claw" that the workers submitted to...it was the smell of the glove! Because he never ever washed it and laughed like crazy!

I will be coming from N. Carolina, I am on the staff. But Blackjack Mulligan was always one of my favorite wrestlers, not just growing up, even now. I loved his feud with the Masked Superstar, #1 Paul Jones, even with Rufus R. Jones. Blackjack Mulligan is one of the few wrestlers from my childhood that I have never had the opportunity of meeting. If he would come to Rockville, that would definately be the HIGHLIGHT of Fanfest for me.

1/ Who you are and where you will be coming from
Bobby R Yates. Randleman,NC
2/ Why you want to meet Blackjack Mulligan
i met mulligan in atlanta at the first SLAMBOREE. he was great then. really, no MACW themed event is complete without as many MACW stars as can be there. i am sure that physical problems may keep some away, but i do hope that even those ailments can not keep any star for coming. some of these guys have had a blast, where others have the times of their lives meeting fans and seeing old friends. i hope that even i can be considered a friend of these great workers we enjoyed watching over the years. i salute blackjack mulligan.
3/ You favourite Blackjack Mulligan memory
anything with either the masked superstar, john studd, or ric flair. it's really a cross between the hat/robe angle with flair and the superstars breaking his claw hand by stomping it into the mat.

Blackjack is on the Mount Rushmore of MACW along with Wahoo, Flair and Steamboat. He had great matches with and against all 3 of them. Perhaps the greatest US champ of all time and his feuds against Flair, Superstar, Studd, Jones, Iron Shiek, Bravo are etched in my mind forever. The Mulligan-Flair hat and robe angle is the single greatest moment in MACW history...period.

Ben coming all the way from Liverpool, England.
My favourite Tag Team of all time are the Blackjacks. I would love to meet Blackjack Mulligan as I have met Blackjack Lanza and would like to be able to say that I have met more than just half of the greatest tag team in wrestling history. Meeting Blackjack Mulligan would be better than meeting Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales combined!!!
As I am a big fan of the WWWF days my favourite memory must be the Blackjacks winning the WWWF tag team titles.

Eric Radford, VA Blackjack Mulligan is a professional wrestling legend. He brought heat as a heel in the 1970s and 1980s but was also adored by fans. My favorite memory of Blackjack Mulligan is his many victories in January 1987 in the WWF at various bunkhouse battle royals using his flying back elbow.

I'll be coming all the way from England, and there is no doubt that seeing Blackjack Mulligan, either for a Q&A, or just for an autograph/photo-op would be the highlight of the whole event. He is a true legend, as Simm said above 'on the Mount Rushmore of MACW, and no one star typifies the kind of wrestling we are coming to Rockville to celebrate than Mulligan. I think its time that 'ol Blackjack got his due and felt the respect the fans have for him after all these years.
Favorite moment: hat/robe angle, stuff with the Superstar, even have fond memories from 1987 in the WWF...

Austin Baltimore Maryland,
I was not around for Blackjack's time, but my dad has shown be many old wrestling highlight tapes over the years and alot of them featured Blackjack Mulligan. He was an awesome wrestler and a very entertaining character. I would very much so, like to meet Blackjack Mulligan. I can recall a great match on one of the tapes with Masked Superstar, but I'm not sure. Please include Mr. Mulligan in this years fanfest.

I really enjoyed Blackjack Mulligan's work from Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. The feud he had against Masked Superstar was awesome, but I distinctly remember other things like when the Iron Sheik whipped him on National Television after Blackjack was succeeding in doing the Sheik's club exercise. He also had a big time feud with Bobby Duncum and a match against Enforcer Luciano in which he used his spurs on him after Luciano cut that awesome promo on TV in which he punched through a cinder block and chewed on a broken light bulb. He was a great heel, a great babyface, and is one guy I would love to meet. I'm coming up from North Carolina (Edenton) and I am looking forward to my 4th fanfest!!!
