maybe tony will get with highspots and they can film "response to rumors III" and he can answer your questions. i am sure the company jet must of broke down or he forgot his credit card again but rest assured that the "undeniable truth" will be told and he will clear everything up-lol.....i really feel bad for the $15 program guy. usually promotions will come out and offer money back at the beginning of the show if there has been a big change like that...you would think that if they had time to get a dusty statement that they knew ahead of time too. seems like i remember a t.h. quote a while back about how the guys always show for his shows and he always give the people what they want.....funny

I guarantee you that if someone pulled that $15 stunt with me, they would've been choking on that cash.

Can someone else who went to this show please post the results of the entire show...there were alot of people in the opening matches I never heard of...
Anyone on this board ever go to a ROH show...I have never been, but am considering going to the show in Dayton. According to mapquest, Dayton is only an hour and 20 mins from Columbus...I would really like to see Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels live...
Thanks, Mike

This card was a train wreck from the beginning of the night! Mr. Hunter guaranteed us (little League) the following card: Dusty Rhodes vs Ivan Koloff, Greg Valentine vs Ronnie Garvin, Snuka vs Samoan Samu w/Samoan Afa in his corner, Buff Bagwell vs David Flair, Tony Atlas & Virgil vs Nikolai Volkoff & The Russian Assassin, Ivory vs Mercedes Martinez, Short Sleeve Sampson vs Todd Stone and a Legends Battle Royal /Bill Eadie, Kimchee and The Patriot. On Wednesday April 4th, Tony calls to say that Ivan Koloff's mom is ill and cannot attend. So we add Bill Eadie. On Thursday morning he confirms to the Little League that all other talent booked for the show have been confirmed and will be there! Saturday morning at 9:18 a.m. we (Little League) receive a call from T.H. to tell us that Dusty Rhodes called him last night at 11:00 p.m. yo back out. Truth is Dusty backed out of the show two weeks earlier due to his flight not being paid for!!! The night of the show we had SIX other no-shows!!! They were Bagwell, Garvin, Virgil, Ivory and the Midgets. Tony told us at 7:30 p.m. that Bagwell had missed his flight. We found out two days after the show infact that Bagwells flight had never been purchased either!! We were told during the start of the intermission again by T.H. that Ivory and the midgets had arrived at the Pittsburgh airport at 5:05 p.m. and were in route to the show. We find out from another promoter who was at the show that evening that infact, Ivory and the midgets had not even received a confirmation call regarding the show. There was no battle royal to end the show either. We were told by our wonderful promoter at 8:30 p.m. that the battle royal would feature all legends because he wanted to do anything he could to please the Franklin Little League Association. All I can say is thank god Afa and another promoter was there to pick up the pieces and salvage our fundraiser. The crime of the whole evening was that the promoter, to our knowledge, never paid Atlas, Valentine, Eadie or D-Von Dudley(rhodes replacement). Anyway here was the actual card that took place that evening: D-Von Dudley vs Rosey (Koloffs replacement) in a Tables match, Snuka vs Valentine w/ Jimmy Valiant as ref., Atlas vs Samu w/Afa in his corner, Volkoff vs Demolition Ax, Phil Brown vs Dirty Money, Sugaa vs Supreme Lee Great, Madd Maxx vs Malik and Supreme Lee Great vs Mercedes Martinez in a Man vs Woman match.
My sincere apologue to all who attended this show and went home as upset as I did. Needless to say Mr. Hunter will never promote a show in PA again!!!!

I'm glad we finally get to hear some truths from this card.
I'm from Pittsburgh and make the trip every year, as I've been a monthly regular with IWC for five years now. I love making the trip, as it's a trip I made many times as a child for family reasons, and making the two hour drive up is usually almost as fun as the shows themselves.
I noticed that Afa, before and after his actual appearance on the show, was running around the place as if he were running it, and he probably did a better job than the so-called promoter of the so called Carolina "Championship Wrestling." I know Norm isn't too much into booking legends these days, that being said, would Afa be interested in bring a WXW show in for '07? I know he frequently books his relatives, Tito Santana, etc.
It's always a great time no matter what at the annual card, so I'm hoping this fiasco, which did have its high points thanks to the boys (and girl) who were there, does not end the tradition.

no offence intended, but i do hope that you do keep coming to this board and participate with us. what i'm saying is that i don't want anyone to come here and go off on a show (and i can understand you stance) and never come back to this board. i feel you know wrestling pretty good. i hope you keep coming around here regular. maybe next time, you will have a great show.

Wow...
All I can say is I am so sorry that happened. That really stinks. It's sort of funny...during intermission at the show, I remember hearing a page for "Tony Hunter." I remember thinking, "I think that's the promoter's name...I bet there is a problem." I never thought that it would be that serious though.
I heard people yelling for Ivory during the card...I had no idea she was even scheduled to be there.
I hope the fundraiser was at least successful. Thanks for the update on what happened and thanks for posting the card.
I am now turning my attention toward looking forward to the IWC show and the next fanfest. I'm also looking forward to the end of the week and seeing more names...

I will keep posting on this forum. I really enjoy veiwing the posts. I have been looking around this forum for several monthes now . I wanted to start by responding to the questions a few of the "posters" had about our show. I really enjoy reading the replies on the Masked Superstar part of the forum. Bill Eadie is a really great guy!! Hopefully he will be willing to come back to any of our future shows. The fans really enjoy having him.

In regards to any future shows, I really do think the little League Assoc. will probably continue to hold its Annual Legends Show. The past shows have been very entertaining and offer a stroll down memory lane for many fans. Even with all the no-shows on the last show, the line-up was perhaps better than the first two shows. We are actually negociating with both WF Promotions and WXW Wrestling (Afa's Company) about another possible show in April 2007. Both of them did a great job of "bailing us" out of our recent show! I just hope that the events of April 8th won't turn our loyal fans away from any future shows!!

can somebody say "CROOK". too bad you guys didnt call me before hand i could have given you some FACTS. i hope you made money but if those guys were stiffed, people were advirtised but not booked, go to the commission. people wonder why wrestling is struggling on the indies....theres a big reason why. wonder what the new name will be carolina championship-classic championship-no class championship. i am really sorry that happened to you. hopefully things will be better in the future and that is the end of hunter's funderaisers.

As I said in a recent post, I feel bad for Bill Eadie, Greg Valentine, Tony Atlas and D-Von Dudly. To my knowledge they did not get paid. I guess D-Von got a partial payment. It is sad because we have worked hard for three years to build a really good annual "Legends" show! I hope that this didn't ruin any future shows for us. This is the Little League's biggest annual fundraiser.

Just asking, but are some of the wrestlers maybe at the last minute, deciding that the pay is not worth travel expense and kind of calling in sick but had they either needed the money to pay a bill or something like that, they would have shown. Is there some kind of verbal contract obligation that might win a lawsuit? Or maybe there word isn't quite good enough to rely on. Is it always the promoters fault? Just wondering and I definitely have no comment on who did or didn't get paid. The only people to comment on that are people who have money owed.

From a local sponsor's standpoint, the promoter NOT being licensed by your State Athletic Commission should bring up an IMMEDIATE red flag.
