I can't go next year. I was lucky that this year's show was only a 20 minute drive away. That means that I only had to use 1 vacation day and didn't have any hotel and travel expenses. It worked out great. But with a wife who works full time and goes to college, along with 2 small kids, any long distance travel to a fanfest is nearly impossible. I consider myself lucky to have one in Charlotte.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the fanfest, and will go again in a heartbeat if and when it comes back to Charlotte. The guy that went with me actually traveled from upstate NY to go with me. He is a school teacher, has plenty of time off in the summer, and has no kids, so he had no problems getting here.
Lucky for me, there is a great Indy scene locally in the Carolinas.

I'm hoping to go. I'm going to find out from school if I should expect any special projects to do at that time during my month break. If not, we MIGHT go. I'm hopeful that we can. It takes a lot of $ and planning. The lineup will help me decide. If Rock N Roll are there, we would be unlikely to miss it. But I'm not sure that they will be.

I'll probably be there. Rockville isn't that far from Northern Va, thus I'm sure I can camp out at some friends house instead of getting a hotel room. That doesn't mean I won't party hard at the hotel, though.

Depends on if I can get someone to watch my son, he's due pretty soon, and he won;t be quite a year old yet. Factor in the fact both my mother and mother in law are both totally nuts, it makes finding a babysitter a little difficult.

i am only about 45 minutes from Rockville, so this is great for me! this will be my first fanfest and along with meeting the wrestlers i really hope to hook up with some of the members on this board and other ones i frequent! i can't wait and hope alot of you that i know thru these boards get t go to!! and i can def relate to the babysitting issues..luckily my wife has no desire to go to this so i won't have to worry about my girls(even though my 10 year old wants to come)

I just received clearance from my academic advisor to make the trip, so I WILL be there. I'm going to buy my ticket later this week. I will be solo this time. I honestly thought the last one might have been my last Fanfest, but once again, things worked out. There are only a few times during the year that I would be able to go. That is during PARTS of the months January, May and August. The date for the Capitol event couldn't be better for me. Cost was also an issue, but with it just being me going this time, that also helps. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Infact, the hotel has a strict policy: NO BRUNO TALK at any time in any part of the building or you will be relegated to sleeping in the maid's closet. ;D It is a "bruno free" hotel. Now, if you want to talk about the MX?? then by all means, talk away. LOL!!!! |
