I attended both the first Charlotte Fanfest and the Fayetville event and I must say - the most memorable moment of both for me was Jim Cornette holding court at the late night Charlotte Q&A. Not only did the announcement of him appearing finally convince me to buy a VIP ticket, but I bought one for my best friend (a 27-year-old NWA fan with limited funds), and my now ex-girlfriend who attended the first one (a wrestling fan only because I'm one - born in 1983 if that gives you any clue) bought one herself and is coming with us because she loved Corny's entertaining and off-the-cuff talk - especially the ICP confrontation (we both play in the same rock band and we hate those guys!). Of course we kept switching off for drink runs the whole night as well (you should try it - it's great fun).
But that said, I CANNOT wait till Aug. 19. I just turned 31 in June and while I'm still a die-hard wrestling fan to this day - there's nothing that will ever beat the old days I grew up on, consisting of Flair, The Horsemen, R'n'R Express, The Midnights, or anything from the 80's NWA. Wrestling heaven, if you ask me...
Also, thank you Greg Price for bringing in some of the TNA guys. I love their product and watch every PPV. Any chance of getting some autographs and photos with AMW, Petey Williams and Elix Skiper as well?
Whatcha gonna do? When "Mulkeymania" runs wild on you?
(Dear Lord, does Hogan suck!)
