The University Place Hilton Hotel is offering a special room rate of $78 per night for fanfest attendees. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. You must book by August 4, 2005 to receive the special rate!

Make reservations online at Hilton.com, call 1-800-HILTONS or the hotel directly at [phone]. If you make phone reservations, mention first that you're a part of the "NWA Wrestling Legends" group in order to receive the special rate. If you book online, use the "Group/Convention Code: NWA" in order to receive the special rate.

The discounted rate is available Wednesday night, August 17 through Tuesday night, August 23 -- a full 7 days -- so if you want to come early or stay late, you may still book at the special rate.

Remember, Charlotte is the heart of stock car country (the hotel is just a couple miles down the road from Lowe's Motor Speedway and dozens of NASCAR race shops in the region,) and home to Paramount's Carowinds (North Carolina's premier theme park and family entertainment destination, including WaterWorks, a 13-acre water park featuring more than nine football fields of winding water slides and gushing playgrounds of overflowing fun,) so why not make it a summer vacation and take in a little bit of everything?

We're arriving in Charlotte on Monday and staying until Monday. It's gonna be a nice vacation for us.

I reserved my room this morning. By calling them at the 704 # above, I was gladly given the discount for the entire week (Mon the 15th through Mon the 22nd) even though we're coming in 4 days early.

Got mine as well. I'm gonna do the same as last year, come in early on Day 1 straight to the exhibitors hall and settle in for a whirlwind 3 day run!

GETTING A ROOM MAKES THE WHOLE DEAL AWESOME. I MET TONS OF LEGENDS JUST WALKING AROUND THE HOTEL AND HAVING A DRINK WITH RIP HAWK AND RIDING THE ELEVATOR WITH THE ROCK AND ROLL EXPRESS WAS COOL. GOT LOTS OF PICTURES AND AUTOGRAPHS WITHOUT STANDING IN THE LONG LINE. AND I DON'T KNOW IF GREGG IS RUNNING THE 48 CONTINIOUS MID ATLANTIC SHOWS ON THE BIG SCREEN THIS YEAR OR NOT BUT MAN THAT WAS KINDA SWEET WATCHIN VERY OLD MACW FOOTAGE.

hey, im not completly sure if i am able to come yet. If i bought the rooms today would i be able to return them and get my money back if i cant show up?

if you want, just use your credit card to RESERVE the room, without paying until you arrive. That's how I do it. They just need your card # to reserve it. I pay in cash after I arrive. If you decide you can't make it, you can cancel your reservation without penalty, as long as you do it like 24 hrs. ahead of time.

I'll be at the Hilton tomorrow about 8-9pm. So far I've avoided the pitfall of coming down with a nasty cold, unlike last time. I share Jim Cornette's feelings about getting on a plane, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Looking forward to the event and seeing everyone again, and meeting those I haven't.

i tried to reserve a room when i heard that the special rate was extended but they said that they are are filled up. Do you happen to know any good cheap places close enough to the hilton?

check with extended stay, its about a half mile from the hilton, i have stayed there before and the rooms have fridges, stoves, microwaves, kitchen sink, the prices were pretty good as well. They are located on the same street as the hilton
