Did anyone catch last night's RAW "homecoming" ? I turned on for just a little while. I didn't believe what I was seeing at first. But among all the familiar faces, I could swear I saw Kevin Von Erich... Would someone else who saw it please tell me if the last of the Von Erich clan DID make an appearance, or if I was just hallucinating?

That was Kevin Von Erich. Didn't you see the segment where they had all of the "legends" in the ring? The legends beat the crap out of some Buff Bagwell wannabe. Dusty gave him the elbow, he got the superfly splash, and Von Erich put the claw on him.
I also read that he was meeting with the WWE to sell them the World Class video library.

That was one of the better segments on RAW last night, the Buff Bagwell wannabe was Rob Conway, when Von Eric put the claw on him he got a major "POP"

was also a BIG disgrace to the legends to have that buffoon conway come out and interrupt, and what in the world has happened to ric flair letting mr ego mcmahon all but make him look extremely weak

NB14....although I will agree the McMahon is Mr. Ego, I don't think Flair was made to look weak. I think Flair did an old school job of selling....something you don't see much of anymore. He took a shot with a sledgehammer. He was beaten down. It was realistic. It got the intended result...lots of heat for HHH.
BTW....when you called him Mr. Ego McMahon....you were talking about Vince, not Mr. Stephanie McMahon....right? Either way, the shoe fits.

i just didnt see the point in going overboard on a beatdown, it was all to feed the myth of hhh (or should i say to feed the growing spare tire that hhh has developed).
it should have stopped in the ring, what was the sense to go to the catering table, to dare all the camera guys/gaffers to stop him, to toss flair into a car. I'll always despise mcmahons lack of respect for the business and total disdain for the legends of the business (which he has shown countless times)

The beatdown on Flair was more to convince people of the split-up and to set up a return bout for the Taboo Tuesday pay-per-view, in which I would guess now Flair will win, but not 100 percent sure. The beatdown was coming a mile away. It was obvious considering their matchup on pay-per-view coming up.
As for Conway coming in, I didn't have a problem with that, either since Dusty, Kevin, Snuka, etc., beat him down.
I think we're missing the point on the respect for the business deal. As Jim Ross said on the RAW highlight show, this isn't your daddy's wrestling anymore. Now, I'm not saying I like that, but he is right.
Now, I did like the comment Dusty made about how the legends set the table for the boys now. Let's hope they don't forget that.

i have to agree about the flair beatdown being way excessive and drawn out. this is a gripe i have about the WWE. when they do these things, they last forever at times. and look stupid. it looked good, yet stupid. by stupid, i mean helmsley popped him with the sledgehammer and then the beatdown. fine, that was great. but then, to drag him all through the back of the building with countless people (wrestlers or not i don't know, it doesn't matter) just standing in the distance watching. that is unrealistic. no one made the save. not one "WWE wrestler" (loose term, i know), fan, custodian, security, t-shirt seller, or nobody made the save. any crowd of 10 people would get involved, regardless. that is so WWE (translated d-u-m-b). now to get back on MACW ideas.... this crap just didn't happen way back when. a beatdown may have lasted a bit, but regardless of who it getting beat up, somebody usually made the save. even the most heinous of characters may have been turned on by his partner(s), but either referees, jobbers, or even the top and mid-card babyface wrestlers would make the save. at least that was realistic. this crap monday night was a drawn out waste of time after the first two minutes. oldschool angle? yep, but no matter how good the dinner is, if is is cooked until it's burnt, it is not worth eating. and that is how i took this angle.

I sit in disgust at how Vince loves to destroy what he did not create. The HHH angle was a joke Flair will never get back the sell job he put in to getting over HHH. Dad always said "whatever you do make it look F*****G real" - If I bring a sledge hammer to the ring my opponent will be dead when I leave, not selling for 15 minutes backstage "with nobody around to help"
Jim Ross is amazing how far money in his pocket and a little Vaseline up his *** will go, because that is where he is taking it. "This isn't your dad's wrestling, and we don't want it to be" I guess that is why well promoted old school Indy shows with 1/10th the budget of the WWE are in ratio WAY out drawing the BIG BOYS. If you disagree don't post a messsage show up and talk to me about it. I will be at 10/22 Thomasville, NC 11/19 Spartanburg, SC -Brad Anderson

Okay, after reading some more comments and watching the segment again, I have to agree that the beat down went on way too long. It's almost as if HHH HAS to have a certain amount of tv time, and everything he does HAS to be drawn out and beaten like a dead horse.
I was also wondering what all of the legends at ringside were thinking. Wouldn't it have been realistic to have a couple of them jump the rail (or whatever the hell that wall is they have now) and just get between HHH and Flair.
