I just returned from several days of covering Katrina for my paper and pubs. Count your blessings, my friends.
The gist of this storysounds true but the details are dubious. Sam lived in Jefferson Parish, and parish employees at the courthouse weren't back to work yet to verify.
The details would show up on a NCIC check, if they were filed before the flood.
Louisiana law calls for 10-30 years mandatory on a fourth DUI offense, obviously, some of that can be suspended.

Jim Ross mentioned on his weekly "Ross Report" that Sam has been sentenced to 10 years for DUI's. I read about it on PWInsider.com.

From Today's WWE.com Ross Report:
"I actually saw Sam Houston at Homecoming with his 18-year-old son, who actually looked about the same age as his dad. I assume that Sam’s legal troubles are either being addressed or have been addressed."

I worked with Sam when he first got started in the biz. His Dad called Dusty and got him booked in Florida. He was a tall skinny kid back then. I have a picture of me suplexing him in a newspaper in Lake City, Fla.I dont even think he was old enough to drink back then but if he was he was barely legal.Hate to see any of the boys go to jail, but better that than him killing himself or someone else.
