As far as I am concerned, there is only one - and that is the original. While it was short-lived in the great scheme of things, Flair, Tully, Ole, Arn and JJ were monsters. No one could touch them.
By the time Luger and then Windham, and then Peter, Paul, and Mary came along they lost a lot of momentum. Toward the end, the group became a shell of its former self.

From the standpoint of getting heat from the fans, then the original Horsemen were the best. But from the standpoint of which version had the best wrestlers, then I have to go with Flair, Arn, Blanchard, and Windham. Nothing against Ole, cuz I loved him, but he was a little past his prime by the time the Horsemen rolled around. A lot of people would agree that Barry Windham was one of the top five wrestlers in the world at the time he was a Horseman.

As far as I am concerned, there is only one - and that is the original. While it was short-lived in the great scheme of things, Flair, Tully, Ole, Arn and JJ were monsters. No one could touch them. I couldn't agree more. The original four were magic. They were the meanest, toughest, roughest, cheatenest bas**rds out there, and I loved them!! You've got the viciousness of the Minnesota Wrecking crew, the class and style of the Nature Boy Ric Flair (can I get a WOOO!), and the abilities and power of Tully Blanchard, with JJ Dillon as the mastermind? C'mon, there's no competition there. They were unstoppable, and were the reason I was sucked into wrestling for so long. I had a couple other wrestlers I considered my favorites, but the original Four Horsemen were always kings in my mind. I couldn't accept anyone else in it though, now that I think of it. I pretty much stopped watching wrestling not long after they started mixing them up. It bothered me.

the best in the ring was the Windham version, which is also my personal favorite. The original version was better utilized though.

Well the consensus is the Original Four Horsemen with the close second being Flair, Windham, Arn and Tully....
I totally agree....a close second but nevertheless.... SECOND......to the Originals.....

My hands down favorite would be Flair, Tully, Arn, Barry. To me, Ole didn't mesh well in the group. With Ole in the mix, there was always going to be a power struggle at some point. Barry, fine tuned the Horseman and had them hitting on all cylinders.

Why do I see no love for the Four Horsemen of Flair, Arn Anderson, Barry Windahm, and Sid Vicious with Ole Anderson playing the part of the advisor!?!?!?! Doesn't anyone remember this version!?!? ;D
By the way, The Third Incarnation of the Horsemen (Flair, Arn, Tully, and Windahm) was in fact THE BEST.

To me, the only 4 Horsemen lineup is: Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Ole Anderson, Arn Anderson, J.J. Dillon. The greatest faction in wrestling history, but I am biased lol.

I always 'show off' when it comes to my Horsemen history knowledge....I havent read any replies..but I can tell you that the Flair,Arn,Tully and Windham were the best..with the Ole,Arn,Flair and Tully in a close second. The rest were just missing something...and dont even get me STARTED about Steve McMicheal!!! My God in heaven...WHAT were they thinking? Roma wasnt a real CATCH himself, but at least he could wrestle a bit....Pillman I can see...Benoit for sure..Malenko..Im not sure was a hot idea....Sting..nope..just not a group guy....Sid..well..I have my own thoughts on his entire career and they aint too flattering...lol!! In 88 when Reed was under JJ and Kendall was actually 'proclaimed' a Horseman on tv by Barry..I have it on video to back my claim....Barry,Kendall (hey..Kendall tried at least) Reed, and Bob Orton wouldve been a nice group..IMO. But thats just me....
