Mr. Landrum....
Its a pleasure to write to you. My name is Marty Ricker, I am the TV announcer for the Championship Wrestling Association in East Tennessee. When I was a young boy around 12, my family would travel to Marion N.C. outside of Asheville to visit my grandmother, and I would get the opportunity to watch World Wide Wrestling on WLOS-TV in Asheville. I decided watching that show and listening to you that I wanted to announce wrestling matches on TV. And some 25 years later, I'm doing just that. Watching you and also Les Thatcher on Southeastern Championship Wrestling on WBIR TV in Knoxville (Fullers Promotion), it started me on a path doing doing what I love.

marty, jeff, glad you are both here.
marty, you just mentioned my two personal favourite announcers with that post. i grew up with landrum and later on, i got to see les thatcher from knoxville in '81 on NWA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING. wasn't it WSLS from roanoke? think that was the station.
fortunately, i have finally met both of these men in recent years. both are very gracious and easy to talk with. my hats off to them both for being fine gentlemen.
