I was wondering if any fans or former talent out there could tell me about Dick ' Mighty Igor' Garza? What was he like in and out of the ring? And if you have any stories of meeting him or any good road stories?
Also the same goes for his manager Ivan Kalmikoff.
Much appreciated.

Well sadly to say both Mighty Igor and Ivan Kalmokoff are both deceased now. Igor real name Richard Garza had been retired since 1988 he was living in Dearborn Michigan with his wife and children. He died of a Heart Attack in 2002 at age 70. Igor/Garza was a very kind gentle man back when he was wrestling in the carolinas either IWA or MACW not sure.
He heard a young boy who had Leukemia was a big fan of his and Igor/Garza went to see him in the hospital and really picked up his spirits and helped him live longer.
Igor/Garza was one of the first major opponents for Hulk Hogan when Hogan was just breaking into the business.

Igor had his biggest success in the IWA in the late 70's as the top babyface feuding with Dick The Bulldog Brower

The Mighty Igor made his name in the IWA around 1975, and had a big fued with Dick The Bulldog Brower, after the IWA folded he came over to the MACW. Trivia note: The main ref in the IWA during that time was none other than Tommy Young! I met Igor one time after an IWA match in a high school gym, and he was a very nice guy. I also have read that Bulldog Brower was a nice guy outside of the ring.
