This past February, Paul was scheduled for knee replacement surgery. During pre-op testing, it was found that he had some blockages in his coronary arteries. Paul underwent an angioplasty procedure last week and the surgeon was able to successfully place three stents and improve the blood flow to his heart. Paul is recouperating at home now and he wanted to let his friends and fans know that he feels fantastic and is doing great. He does, however, still need to get that knee replacement, which he hopes to get done in April or May.

We will all pray for Paul and hold out hope that one day in the future he'll be able to land one of those big right hands. Just like the old days! Valentine would love another one!

I spoke with Paul Jones on Memorial Day and he told me his knee surgery is supposed to take place on June 13, so let's keep #1 in our prayers.

I just talked to Paul. His knee replacement surgery went very well. He began physical therapy last night and he will be in the hospital for a couple of days, then will be transferred to a rehab center for a few days to undergo some more physical therapy before he is released to go home.
He is very happy to have this operation behind him, as it was a long road for him in getting this knee replacement done. He said to tell the fans that he looked forward to seeing them in August at Fanfest and he hopes to be 100% by then.
He also wanted me to say, and I quote: "A lesser man like Jack Brisco would never have been able to withstand an operation like this, but I'm Number One Paul Jones, and this was a piece of cake for me!"

Sounds like #1 is setting up a good angle for FANFEST.
Thanks, Noodle, for the update.

Hope #1 is feeling and doing great soon. I remember him putting a wig on Baron Von Raschke and saying it looked great. It looked like a poodle on his head. I was dying. Hope his is back on his feet soon.

Hope his is back on his feet soon. Paul is doing great and was in great spirits at fanfest. As a matter of fact, Paul, Terry Funk and Stan Hansen kept the party going in the Hospitality Suite until the wee hours on Saturday morning.
