Yes, hopefully you have time to prepare to take the blow but that does not always happen. Plus, the guys have had a lot of bad injuries from taking hits from a chair. My ex Sam Houston received 22 stitches from hit he took from Arn in Fayetteville, N.C. So to hear what happenened to Flair is no surprise. If a chair was thrown into the ring wouldn't you use it or expect your opponent to if they were able to get to it first?
Not only stitches come from hits from the chair but also neck injuries. I know of more guys that have had jarring neck injuries than stitches.
