Mr. Eadie -- Do you train legs at the gym? Most people are much stronger in bench but im just the opposite! I use the leg press but no squats. What do you do? Also, would'nt you like to step out in front of 20,000 screaming fans once more, Demolition music pounding, Darsow by your side. Just one last time. Do you ever wish that could happen? I sure do!! I really miss those days. -- Doug Meyers, Rockford, Il.

Doug, I used to train legs. Basically I did Hindu squats. I got hooked on them in Japan and training with Malenko. Great for the cardio and easy on the joints. I think it was a key factor in my ring stamina.
Not sure if I would like to go out one more time or not. IT'S NOTHING LIKE WHEN WE WERE THERE SO I MAY BE DISSAPOINTED. I had a very good career and I enjoy what I am doing now very much.

Mr. Eadie -- Today I am sick and I HATE being sick!! What did you do on the road when you became ill? You did'nt still go to the gym with the flu did you? On a different note -- what do you do today? I know you used to teach (It would have been so cool to have Ax as my teacher)

When your ill the best thing to do is rest. Can't force your body to workout.
I work with Kid's at Risk. I teach , but my students are referred to us from the state juvenile facilities or state custody agencies. Have been doing this for nine years now.

Mr. Eadie --- Do you remember wrestling in Rockford, Illinois at the Metrocentre? That is where I watched you (Demolition) as a kid. You guys wrestled there several times a year but I know its been a long time (time goes by so fast!) It was and still is a big ugly orange building. Also, are those kids scared of you because you are so big -- especially when they learn who you are? --- Doug Meyers

Yes I remember Rockford and the building. Yes, we were there often.
The Kid's scared , no. They realize why I am there and what I am trying to do. They try to get off task by talikng wrestling but I get them back to work quickly.

Mr. Eadie --- This has been debated by wrestling fans for a long time. In your opinion, who would be the tougher man in a shoot fight -- Barbarian or Haku?? Also, who was stronger on the bench press, Ax or Smash?? Thanks!! -- Doug Meyers, Rockford, Il.

Barb or Haku, Man I would rather have them on my side that against either one. I couldn't say. Wouldn't be a walk in the park with either one. Pick your poison !!!
Bench. I really don't recall how much Barry did do for max. I can't recall him going all out during our workouts togehter. I used to be good in the bench but as I said I can't honestly recall . We were pretty much training to keep in shape and not interested in max amounts. That leads to injuries and when your wrestling as often as we were you can't afford a stupid lifting injury. No work no pay !!!!
Sorry I wasn't much help.

Well the thing is, you both looked the part for sure! Your matches were realistic---- especially the ones with Tully and Arn!! I just wish there would have been a Road Warriors VS. Demolition match on ppv --- Ax & Smash, no Crush! It just was'nt the same when Crush came along.

I have a question that sounds dumb but im still curious!! Where did you and Barry used to get your makeup? Did you have to find a store on the road or did the WWF supply it for you guys?? -- Doug Meyers

We used lip liner cosmetic colored pencils. It was much easier to apply and with the ingredients it wasn't harmful to our skin. Plus it was very easy to touch up and easy to remove. You must remember we had face color on each day and often for many many hours each day. During TV tapings or special events we had color on as much as 12 to 14 hours . Some guys used paint but that's not good for the skin.
Very expensive too I might add. Around $6 to $7 per pencil and we used to go thru a pencil or two every other day. I would like to have figured out how much we spent .

Mr. Eadie --- I just ordered a DVD from WXW (Afa's promotion) from April of this year called "Night of Champions". You as Ax wrestled Nikolai Volkoff and also Valentine VS Snuka. What can I expect from this show? I like watching legend shows to see how my childhood heroes look now. ---- Doug Meyers

Doug, I don't know anything about it. I asume it was the legends event in Pa.. Couldn't say what to expect or how the quality is. Do remember the match but not much about it.
Sorry.

I have heard you say that you have high blood pressure. So do I and diabetes also runs in my family. Do alot of wrestlers have these problems? My dad just found out he has diabetes, and he eats right, excercises, and is in good shape!! I think if you are going to get it then you are going to get it. How bad is your high blood pressure? Sorry to ask so much here but whatever you say will make me feel better.
