The Tigers have the first round matchup with the Yankees, but do any of the other teams in the playoffs have a better shot? Do any of the national league teams pose a threat to NYY if they get to the world series? It has been a real down year for the national league. The Mets had the best season, but without Pedro Martinez, they aren't as strong. I am a Red Sox fan, so I just want someone to beat New York!

You gotta hate Yankee fans, "sorry Bobby". They buy their team every year, they don't produce players the old fashion way. I know all the same arguments that are used to make that right, largest market, free agency, loads of money...etc... But its just not right.

my grandfather told me that same stuff everytime the yankees came up in conversation. so, you are saying that you hate the WWE as much as you do the yankess? it's the same scenario vince started in the early '80's buying up all the talent, just baseball instead.
yankess are the greatest, but my favourite in the astros. but, i don't follow baseball these days.

And here all along I thought Bobby was a good guy! How can anyone like the yankees? Their fans are obnoxious! Their owner is a jerk. They play in "the toilet!" The Yankees are everything that is wrong with sports. A $200 million payroll is ridiculous. They buy their way into winning every year. Someone please beat them!!!!
I voted for Minnesota btw

I voted for Minnesota btw The Yankees haven't won since 2000. Cano, Wang, Cabrera, Mariano, Jeter, Posata and Williams are all home grown. Don't give me that junk that they just buy the team every year. I'd rather have a franchise that invests back in the team than a team like KC or Pittburg, who don't even bother, and pocket the money. Know who bought the title? Florida, twice, and Arizona. Both teams immediately dismantled after winning. Boston, who had ONE guy who came up with the team. So, go ahead and root against them if it makes you feel better, but just admit it is because you are jelous that we have an owner that will do what it take to win, because the "you win every year" thing is flat out wrong. Edit to add: I should probably have put a smiley somewhere in there, I don't really take this all that seriously.

Don't let him kid you, Bart does take it seriously, he'll probably be buried in a Coffin with New York Yankee's logos all over it

The Yankees haven't won the world series since 2000, but they still have been in the playoffs every year and were in the WS in 2001 and 2003. And they still are what is wrong with professional sports and are the sole reason why baseball needs a salary cap. Superstars they have bought (not home grown).... Gay-rod Gary Sheffield Johnny Damon Jason Giambi Bobby Abreu Randy Johnson Hideki Matsui Mike Mussina Carl Pavano (former star) Jarrett Wright (former star) among others The Yankees have a star player at every single position. Small market teams just can't compete and the playing field is uneven. Bart only gave you a portion of the facts and slanted the information in a disgusting attempt to paint his team in a favorable light. I hope the Yankees lose!

Since I enjoy watching the Durham Bulls play so much (I attend roughly 15 games a year) I pull for the Devil Rays. For the hell of it I wish any Sox or Yankee fan would compare salaries with this team and then you will see why as long as there is no cap that my team will never come close to a division title. How fair is this? I understand you pull for who you pull for but damn its frustrating. Thank goodness for the oddsmakers because if you bet the Rays every time they play the Yankmees you will win money. I know cause I have. Hell, the yankmees were a -240 fave against the Tigers the other day. MLB needs a cap bad.
