The beat-down by the horsemen in the parking lot of JCP.

thats tough i would have to say flair. they sold out all over the place. when you saw that match on the marque you knew you were getting your moneys worth that night. that feud also led to him and the horseman and not to mention a lot of money for each of them.

I guess Flair because he was the best at carrying Dusty. I didn't care for most of the Dusty-Tully bouts. As good as Tully was, the difference between he and Flair was apparent when they were in the ring with Big Dust. Just compare Dusty's Starrcade bouts with Flair to his Starrcade 86 bout (or Bash 85, or any of his bouts) with Tully and it's clear that Flair was the one who could really carry the big guy.

None of the above.
In my opinion, Dusty's best feud was in 1979 with Terry Funk. Dusty wins the world title FINALLY, only to lose it a week later after Terry Funk comes in and breaks his arm. This sends Funk on a tear thru Florida with Dusty on the shelf. Funk wins, I think the Florida title, and coupled that with the attack on Dusty, every fan favorite from Jack Brisco to Steve Keirn to Sweet Brown Sugar wants Funk's blood. Excellent stuff. Might be second only to Bruno and Zbyszko and Flair -- Mulligan hat and robe for best of the late 70s and early 80s.

I'd go with Funk or Ole. The intensity and believability of those feuds were just incredible and blows away any of his other feuds.

Tully Blanchard period. Listening to Tully's interviews you really thought that he hated Dusty Rhodes. They had great in ring chemistry also.

Listening to Tully's interviews you really thought that he hated Dusty Rhodes. I would think it would be easy for someone like Tully to get that emotion from a promo about hating Dusty.

I'm with Dogs on the Funk feud. Great stuff that went that extra mile. Including, of course, to Funk beating on jobber Bruce Walkup in that 5**** empty TV studio cage 'match'....
The Tully and Flair stuff is awesome though....

Hmm.. Gun to my head gotta choose, I'd have to say Ric Flair. I know the fued wasn't the greatest, but I love that pretaped promo Dusty did for an early eighties fued with Kabuki in Georgia - It was a take off on "Apokalypse Now", with Dusty painted up like the Col. Kurtz character. In his best Brando, Dusty goes:" Kabuki...Are you an assassin, or are you just an errand boy?....I THINK YOU'RE AN ERRAND BOY MY MAN!!" That may not be word- for- word as it's been a while since I watched it. I still get a kick out of that...

Tully Blanchard hands down. His feud with Flair was good, but it seemed to me the feud was more over the belt, where his feud with Tully was more a personal vendetta. Tully's natural attitude and arrogance made him more of a complimentary heel to counter Dusty.
