WWE RELEASES GOLDUST

World Wrestling Entertainment announced this afternoon that they had released Dustin "Goldust" Runnels today. There's no word yet as to why. Runnels had been used as one half of an undercard tag team with Gene Snitsky of late. The timing of his release is interesting as it comes just a week after the release of WWE's 3 DVD set commemorating the career of his father, Dusty Rhodes, who's currently a member of the WWE Creative team.

Kind of a strange firing. When he is contractually able to go to TNA, I think Dustin could be an asset to that promotion, if not in singles ranks then in tag team with someone.

I just watched the first of the three disks last night. It spends a lot of time on Dusty's run from the early 1970s until the mid 1980s in Florida.

Maybe I missed something, but why would this have anything to do with the Fake Kane?

The way I understand, is the fake Kane is an indy guy from Georgia.

I swear, I think that the very first appearance of fake Kane was Dustin. He had so many of the same mannerisms. I have since found out that that Deacon guy is him now, but I would wager that the first time was Dustin just by some of the movements he made. I could be wrong though. Sure wouldn't be the first time, lol.
